My hubby's version of a wish jar

If any of you know my husband, Ryan, this won't surprise you in the least! It was pretty darn funny, I have to say!

So you know how I have my wish jar that I'm saving $$ for a baby, right? Well, the other day, Ryan was rummaging through the cabinets looking for something, and I asked if I could help him find it - he said, "No, I got it." He pulled out a jar, then a picture from his back pocket. He proceeded to duct tape it onto the jar, along with various Christmas ribbons/bows, and more duct tape. If you can't tell, it's a picture of a flat screen television (Upon first glance, I thought - you want to save for a trip to the mountains? Then I saw the platform at the bottom of the picture.) He put in all the money and change from his pocket, which was under $5. I am totally beating him!! HaHa! :)

Then, the other day, we went through the drive-thru and he usually hands me the change, but instead, he looked at me, then the money, and then he put it into his own pocket! Silly boy!! He really makes life interesting for me! And keeps us all laughing! I do have to give him kudos for attempting to decorate his jar, though! Maybe I'm rubbing off on him a little bit with my papercrafting stuff. :)

Project Runway Scrapbook Challenge #1

I don't know how many of you follow the show Project Runway, but I am involved with a group of cool girls who decided it would be fun to do scrapbooking challenges based on their challenges each week. Their challenge was to design some clothes for a celebrity to wear on the red carpet. To make it work for scrapbooking, we decided to have our challenge be to scrapbook our "Red Carpet Moment." Glitz Design graciously donated to our challenge, so we used some paper, stickers, and rub-ons from them (they rock, by the way!!!) and created kits for all the participants. The only rule is that you had to use something from the kit in your layout. We posted the layouts on the Project Scrapbook '09 blog here, so go check them out! They are all amazing. :)

Oh yeah, you can vote for your favorite (pick me, pick me!!) - the winner will be treated to some more amazing goodies that Glitz Design generously gave to us to give away!! To vote on the Project Scrapbook '09 blog, click here. Voting closes Thurs. Sept. 3rd at 9pm MST, so don't delay!!

The red carpet moment I chose to capture was my wedding day - I felt like a princess marrying my prince (still do - I'm so lucky!), the weather was beautiful, I loved my dress, my flowers, and especially my guy!! It truly was a perfect day!

It was so fun to try out Glitz Designs' products - their rubons are amazingly easy to use! And I love their paper! Gorgeous! I hope I win the prize! One of my brother's friends from when we were kids is actually one of the girls that started the company so I was able to hit her up for some donations - it's awesome to have connections, sometimes, huh?

Wish Jar

I am trying to convince my hubby that it's time to have another baby (our youngest is going to be three in October). He said that if I save $2000, we can seriously talk about it. So guess what I did that very day?

I went out and bought this big jar and decorated it and stuck it in my kitchen. I am really motivated and will be putting all my extra change and extra earnings in here so we can "talk" about having a baby. Talk about baby hungry!! That's me! :)

On another note, isn't it a cute jar? I decorated it with our new Crushed Curry and Soft Suede ink, paper, and ribbons - since if we do end up having another one (cross your fingers!), we won't know if it's a boy or girl - and yellow and brown are pretty neutral. You can make fun of me if you want to - I don't care!! :)

One of my friends, Wendy, says I should take it with me to my Stampin' Up workshops and classes and ask for donations. How hilarious would that be???

I'm thinking of making another (smaller) jar for my son who is in kindergarten right now. That way when he does chores, he can put his money in there and watch it grow!!

You Rock!!

You know those memo boards that are covered with fabric and then have ribbon run across them to hold photos? That's the look I was going for with this page I made awhile ago. One of my stamp club girls had requested that we use the Rockabilly (retired now, sigh!) Specialty Paper for the month she was the hostess, so this is what I came up with.

I am loving that I can change out the photos if I want to, since they are not adhered, just clipped on with the library clips.

Stampin' Supplies:
Stamps:
A Little Something (hostess level 1 from last catalog - retired), Sweet Celebrations (even though this just retired I am hanging onto it since it's awesome for scrapbooking!!),
and Just Jawing stamp set
Paper: Basic Black, Kiwi Kiss, Riding Hood Red, Whisper White, Rockabilly Specialty
Ink: Basic Black, Whisper White (craft), Riding Hood Red, Kiwi Kiss
Accessories: large & small star punches, 1", 1 1/4", and scallop circle punches, white embossing powder, chipboard star, Riding Hood Red striped grosgrain ribbon, old olive grosgrain ribbon, fine cosmo stampin' glitter, vintage brads

Sign up to receive email updates whenever I post (see my sidebar)!! It's way easier than blog-surfing everyday! :)

You Are... page

This is a page my stamp club did for one of their July projects. I love these pictures of my son - he was about 1 1/2 years old and so adorable!!! Here are the deets:

Stampin' Supplies:
Stamps: Jumble Alphabet, Certificate of Authenticity
Paper: Sage Shadow, Sahara Sand, Chocolate Chip, Whisper White, To the Nines Specialty Designer Paper (LOVE it! Textured, cover-weight cardstock with prints), kraft & artichoke designer series papers from FREE hostess packs
Ink: Sage Shadow, Chocolate Chip, Always Artichoke
Accessories: Chocolate chip 5/8" grosgrain ribbon, Chocolate Chip double stitched grosgrain ribbon, Always Artichoke 1/4" grosgrain ribbon, sm. and large star punches, 1", 1 3/8", a 3/4" and scallop circle punches, wide oval punch, My Way (arrow) punch, Sizzix Big Shot, Stars #2 Bigz Die, Vintage brads

TIP: To make larger scallop borders, punch circles out of any size circle punch and adhere behind paper so that half of the circle is showing. Instant wow-factor!!

**Another note: If you would like to be emailed whenever I publish a new post on my blog, sign up with FeedBurner on my sidebar - it rocks!!

Love the New In Colors!!!

Can I just say how much I am loving Stampin' Up's new In Colors? They are fabulous!!! Here's a couple quick pics of some cards I've done lately for workshops, stamp clubs, and swaps using the new colors (sorry if there are blades of grass in the pics - I took them outside in my yard because the lighting was a little better):

Circle Circus Happy B-day Card
Stampin' Supplies:
Stamps:
Circle Circus, All Holidays
Paper: Crushed Curry, Old Olive, Pumpkin Pie, Chocolate Chip and Whisper White
Ink: Old Olive, Rich Razzleberry, Melon Mambo, Chocolate Chip
Accessories: 1", 1 1/4", and scallop circle punches, trio flower punch, scallop edge punch, silver brads, clear rhinestone brads

I know, I'm a punch addict!! It makes my life so much easier not having to cut out all those circles, etc. And the beautiful thing about the Circle Circus set is that our punches coordinate with all the images! Brilliant!!

Medallion Thank You Card
Stampin' Supplies:
Stamps:
Thank You Kindly, Medallion
Paper: Melon Mambo, Whisper White
Ink: Melon Mambo
Accessories: Jumbo Grommet, rhinestone brad
***TIP: To set the jumbo grommets, simply line up on your card where you want to place the grommet and, using a mousepad or self-healing mat, push the grommet prongs through the paper. Then, turn over and fold the prongs down with your bone folder. Super easy!
**Another note: The Medallion (background) stamp is one of my fave new sets in the new catalog!! It can carry a card all by itself; it's so beautiful! And very versatile - perfect for thank yous, b-days, weddings, and it could even work for masculine cards with the right color scheme! Love it!!

Razzle Dazzle Thank You card
Stampin' Supplies:

Stamps: Razzle Dazzle, Wow Flowers
Paper: Whisper White, Soft Suede, Crushed Curry
Ink: Soft Suede, Crushed Curry Stampin' Write Marker
Accessories: Crushed Curry polka-dot grosgrain ribbon, 1 1/4", 1 3/8", and scallop circle punches, Sizzix Big Shot, Top Note die for Big Shot

TIP: You can create your own background paper by stamping an image repeatedly on cardstock; similar to the way I did with the flowery background shown on this card.
